~ I find it a bit amazing, and sometimes a little overwhelming, just how far photography has come since I was first handed a camera, probably the old Kodak Brownie my parents used. The Christmas I received a state-of-the-art Kodak Instamatic is still remembered vividly. It even had a flash attachment!
~ Since then, I've acquired a wide variety of cameras, taken many photography classes at college or independent workshops, shot tens of thousands of images, and spent many days in various darkrooms, all seemingly in preparation for the digital age. So much of what took hours to do in a darkroom using those "aromatic" chemicals can now be done at the computer and I find the shoot to be at best, only half of the imaging process.
~ But I look forward to both capturing and editing images as they are both a bit amazing and sometimes a little overwhelming.
